ASIA International Conference




    The 1st AEJ-UKI SLA Research Conference held on 23 - 25 April 2021 by Universitas Kristen Indonesia, English Education Deparment. This conference is Free of Charge, and will be awarded a certificate of attendants after the conference.This event lasts for three days, namely on Friday, Saturday and Monday on online virtual Zoom. On the first day, participants came from various countries in Asia, for example a moderator came from Thalind. 

    On this first day, Friday, April 23, 2021, the conference was opened by Mr. Dhaniswara as the chancellor of the Christian University of Indonesia. After this event was opened by the Chancellor of the Christian University of Indonesia, various remarks from the committee representatives and especially the head of the English education study program by Mr. Hendrikus Male, M.Hum.






    After the event lasted 45 minutes, the next event was a presentation by speakers from various countries about the results of the research and this was opened by Mr. Wayan from Medan State University. After the key speakers carry out their presentation, now the zoom room is broken out to listen to each of their presentations.






    After various presentations have been carried out by the presenters for three days, this conference was closed by the Chancellor of the Christian University of Indonesia with the hope that this conference can benefit all participants and hopefully events like this can be carried out even better in the future to create an international conference.

  NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION Non-verbal communication is the process of communicating through sending and receiving wordless messages. Non-verbal communication can be divided into 4 parts namely body language (kinesics), eye contact (oculistics), touch (haptics), body distance (proxemics), paralangue, and turn taking.  CULTURE SHOCK      The definition of culture shock is the trauma you experience when you move into a culture different from your home culture. Culture shock is the personal disorientation aperson may feel when experiencing an unfamiliar way of life due to immigration or a visit to a new country, or to a move between social environments, also a simple travel to another type of life. Cause of shock culture      Besides language barrier, frustration, anxiety and stress also occur whenever people can‘t do all the things they are accustomed to doing in their everyday lives.
